Our Meals on Wheels service provides African-Caribbean, culturally sensitive meals which are prepared and delivered daily.

The meals on wheels service has been in operation since late 2002. The uptake of this scheme is becoming extremely successful. Leeds Black Elders envisage the demand for this service to increase greatly in the future.
Service available to:
To any person over the age of 55 and live within the Leeds 6, 7, 8 and 9 area and who are in need of this service qualifies.
Delivery Days:
The meals on wheels service is available six days a week. These days are ; Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday (soup).
Referral:
Referral forms can be obtained from the Leeds Black Elders Association Offices or Leeds City Council, Department Social Services and various agencies in and around the community. Due to a high demand there is a waiting period.
Delivery Times:
The meals are delivered between 11.30am and 2:00pm (on selected days as stated above).
Dietary Needs:
We will cater for as many members of the community as possible including people who are diabetic or vegetarian (and including people with certain food allergies).
Payment Method:
All meals cost £2.30 per day (subsidised by Social Services). Payment can be on a daily, weekly or monthly through prior arrangement with Leeds Black Elders Association, Meals-on-Wheels Co-ordinator.
