Activity Club

Every Tuesday, 11am - 3pm, LBEA holds an Activity Club which currently has 30 members.

This club is service-user led which means the members make the choices as to what activities they do. To date, they have enjoyed, light exercises, discussion groups, guest speakersyouth-group entertainment and arts & crafts where they have made lovely birthday cards, bookmarks and gifts; others enjoy the greatest competitive, yet truly relaxing and enjoyable sport that is dominoes!

After a few hours of these activities, the elders are hunger! Whilst being seated at restaurant style dining tables, they are served a delicious freshly cooked meal.  Every week, our talented chef delights all with his culinary skills and has served up a menu of the most delicious meals which have included: homemade fish and chips; roast chicken with rice and peas; macaroni cheese with fried chicken or fish; pasta salad with chicken goujons or steamed fish to name but a few!  Every meal is served with a selection of steamed vegetables and salad.  After the main meal has finished, it is now time for that homemade pudding!  Cakes such as, pineapple upside-down cake; fruit cake; coconut cake with custard or ice-cream; ice-cream and fruit or a fruit salad always go down a treat!

Of course, after this delicious meal has been enjoyed, it is now bingo time for an hour and then home-time.  The service-users are all collected and taken home in the mini-bus which is driven by our volunteer driver.

The club could not happen if it was not for the dedicated volunteers who give 4 hours every week of their time to ensure the smooth running of the club and that the service-users enjoy a relaxing and worry-free day.

If you would like to join in the fun at the Activity Club, please do not hesitate to contact one of the team at the office where we will be very happy to share your company.

If you would like to volunteer your time at the club sharing your skill, knowledge or just time, please contact the LBEA team at the office.
