Befriending scheme

The Befriending Project has been running successful for a number of years now. The aim of the scheme is to eradicate the possibility of isolation for the Service Users. The Befriender could be placed in the following:

  • Hospitals
  • Care/Nursing homes
  • Clients home
  • Day Centres

The Befriender will carry out varying duties:

  • Reading
  • Indulge in social conversation
  • Light shopping

RESPITE CARE

Providing a well deserved break for the carer for several hours. Above duties may be carried out.

In conjunction with Leeds City Council - Family Placement,
Leeds Black Elders provides a service of caring for individuals within their own homes or alternatively the carer takes the individual into their home and is paid a sum for this service.
